It depends what you put in it. I put lemon water in mine and one of the seeds got caught in the mechanism of the cap. It did leak and wrecked an MP3 player that was in the bag. I now use a Zojirushi and it definitely doesn't leak

The previous model is a bit more difficult to clean. The Open-Access lid flips out for better cleaning access. I say get the newer one.

No mold, everything comes out nice and clean, and I use one of these mugs whenever I want my drink to hold its temperature for hours or need a holder I can count on to not leak. The instructions specifically state: DO NOT microwave or freeze.
Since the mug is stainless steel, I would agree with the manufacturer's instructions.

The mug has a rolled edge and I don't see how it could get in. IMPORTANT.. ONLY the stainless mug is dishwasher safe, any other the finishes have to be hand washed. A little surprise I found on the paper inside the cup after I received it.

If you have the Vue (V600/V700) then you can elevate it a bit for it to fit.

It fits under the machine in our office if you flip up the platform that you place a mug on when making a beverage. I don't know if this is a feature found on all Keurig machines, however.
