This is my first time purchasing these boots online and I won't do it again. I went to a store afterward and tried on the same size boot and found it much more roomy than the ones I currently own. The ones I tried on in the store were Altitude V, however, so sizing could have changed, but they fit about how I remember the last 4 pairs I purchased fit when I first tried them on. I suspect these might be irregulars or perhaps knock-offs.
Quality of build still seems good, so I think they will last nearly as long. If you have narrow feet, you'll probably be happy with the purchase. If you're purchasing them because they've traditionally fit your wide foot (like me), I think you'll be disappointed.
I have noticed a change, since they started making them in China. The shoes run smaller than before so I have less toe room. I ordered a pair a half size larger and it seemed to be more like the earlier boots. I also noticed that the eyelet hooks are not as well finished as the earlier boots, so the laces get cut by sharp edges within a month sometimes, on the boots made in China. I've had to file them on the last two pairs. I shouldn't have to buy replacement shoe laces in a month of buying a new pair of boots. Still, with my bad feet, this is the only pair of boots that work for me, so I always keep a new pair in the box, as a backup, just in case they discontinue this model. I'll just order it a half size larger, from now on.
I've contacted the manufacturer and I'm working on getting a replacement pair. Will update this once I know how it goes and if they stand by their year warranty.
I loved my first pair....they lasted me 8 years.....through costal weather and winters too when we moved inland. I hiked often and wore them everyday. I was so impressed, I found the identical boot. Unfortunately, I was in for a huge disappointment. Buying these boots was a big mistake. They are the identical size my last pair was, but they're too small. I thought they'd break in, but instead my feet hurt when I use them all day, and the material is just not standing up to use like my first pair. They're already separating and the back has holes in the top of the material. They are expensive, and I'm extremely disappointed.

Luckily - I paid a lot less than what the MSRP is on these boots, so - I'm going to keep them and hope that they last for at least one year. (previous boots lasted 3+ years of constant wear in the winter)
When this new pair needs replacing - I will NOT be buying HiTek anything.
Based on that experience, I ordered a new pair last year. What a mistake! Didn't get to use them until recently. On the 8th day of using them recently, the front of the right boot toe box split. Nothing harsh, just moderate hiking. On a closer inspection, the other boot showed the same defect.
The Amazon sight wont give me the option to return. $154 down the drain.
